ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 101,212.91 points, up 0.60% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 100,614.28 points. As of the close, it had gained 607.92 points from last week's close of 100,604.99 points.

The benchmark index hovered between 100,336.23 and 101,410.08 points during Tuesday's trading.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 672 billion Turkish liras ($117.5 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.44 billion).
On the second transaction day of the week, 58 stocks on the index rose, 33 were down, and nine were flat compared to the previous close.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, defense giant Aselsan, and Garanti.
Shares of conglomerate Bera Holding saw the largest rise, up 8.82%, while Celebi Hava Servisi, which provides integrated ground services at airports,was the worst performer, with its shares down 3.86%.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,493.50 by market close, down from $1,512.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $63.50 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Tuesday.
