ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,392.91 points on Friday, up 0.09% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,383.25 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 1.27 points from Thursday's close of 1,391.64 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 1,380.02 points, while its daily high was 1,392.91 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was over 1.04 trillion Turkish liras ($123.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of more than 11.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.38 billion).
On the final transaction day of the week, 43 stocks on the index rose, 51 fell, and six were flat compared to Thursday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, automotive manufacturer Karsan, and iron and steel producer Kardemir.
Casting producer Cemas was the best performer of the day with its shares up 10%. Stocks of energy company Odas saw the sharpest drop with 3.26%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,827 by market close, unchanged from the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $75.19 per barrel as of 6:34 p.m. local time (1534GMT).
