ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index went up 0.33% to 1,102.70 points at close on Friday.
After starting the last transaction day of the week at 1,100.93 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 3.64 points from Thursday's close of 1,099.06 points.
During the day, the index hovered between 1,096.79 and 1,104.76 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 814.7 billion Turkish liras ($109.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 14.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.94 billion).
On Friday, 43 stocks on the index rose, 51 fell, and six were flat compared to Thursday.
The highest trading volumes were posted by chemical producer Petkim, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines and air carrier Pegasus.
Tav Holding, active in operating airports, was the best performer, with its shares up 6.36%, while stocks of paper-carton producer Kartonsan dropped the most, losing 4.58%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,946.50 by market close, down from $1,949.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $40 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Friday.
