ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 95,257.61 points on Tuesday, up 1.36% from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 95,592.62 points. As of daily close, it earned 1,276.22 points from Monday's close of 93.981,39 points.
During Tuesday's trading, the index's lowest level was 94,789.87 points and the highest was 95,872.85 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 641.9 billion Turkish liras ($108.6 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 7.15 billion Turkish liras ($1.12 billion).
On the second transaction day of the week, 84 stocks on the index rose, 13 were down, and three were flat compared to Monday.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were posted by Garanti, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and Akbank.
Anadolu Cam operating under one of the world's major glass manufacturers, Turkey's Sisecam, was the best performer on Tuesday, with its shares up 6.71%, while stocks of prominent airport operator TAV Airports Holding dropped most, down 1.74%
The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,494.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $59.30 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Tuesday.
