ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish military "neutralized" two members of the PKK terrorist group in an airstrike in Iraq's northern Qandil region, the National Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
"Our operations will continue unabated," the ministry said on X.
In a separate post on X, the ministry said that one Turkish soldier was killed and two others were injured as a result of “harassing fire” by the PKK terrorist organization in northern Iraq.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
