ADDS MORE INFO ABOUT MEETING

WASHINGTON (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday in the US.
Erdogan and Meloni held a closed-door meeting on the sidelines of a three-day NATO summit that began Tuesday with 32 leaders gathering in Washington, D.C. to mark the military alliance's 75th anniversary.
The leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional and global issues, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.
During the meeting, Erdogan said that relations between Türkiye and Italy will continue to develop with the steps to be taken and that the countries will continue to work for this.
He added that Ankara is doing its best to end the tensions in the surrounding region through peace and that all countries should make efforts for this.
