Türkiye to continue using its win-win principle understanding with African countries, says Recep Tayyip Erdogan

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday met with Patrice Emery Trovoada, prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, an island country off the coast of Central Africa.

Bilateral relations between Türkiye and Sao Tome and Principe plus regional and global issues were discussed during the closed-door meeting at the Dolmabahce Office in Istanbul.

Erdogan stressed Türkiye's cooperation with African countries based on the win-win principle, saying Türkiye will continue to work with this understanding.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya also attended the meeting.



- Parties sign 2 agreements

After the meeting, the two countries signed agreements on security and law enforcement training and energy cooperation.

Yerlikaya and Sao Tomean Foreign Minister Gareth Guadalupe signed an agreement on security and law enforcement training cooperation.

Bayraktar and Jose Do Nascımento Carvalho De Rio, Sao Tome’s natural resources minister, also signed a memorandum of understanding on energy.
