ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Thursday down 0.70% to close at 1,076.34 points.
After starting at 1,085.88 points on Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 7.57 points from 1,083.91 points at Wednesday's close.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,936.20 by market close, down from $1,961.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $43.19 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Wednesday.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was 794 billion Turkish liras ($107 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 12.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).
On the third transaction day of the week, 24 stocks on the index rose, 75 fell compared to Wednesday.
The highest trading volumes were posted by glass producer Sisecam, defense giant Aselsan, and private lender Garanti.
Stocks of real investment trust firm Alarko were the best performer, with its shares up 6.6%, while stocks of energy firm Odas dropped the most, losing 4.30%.
