ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index was flat at close on Wednesday, down 0.07% to 2,016.13 points.
Starting the day at 2,034.41 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 1.33 points from Tuesday's close of 2,017.46 points.
During Wednesday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 2,016.03 points and 2,043.39 points – 25 stocks on the index rose, 71 fell, and four were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of around 1.6 trillion Turkish liras ($116.2 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 27 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).
Shares of two iron/steel producers Eregli and Kardemir, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines posted the highest trading volumes.
Stocks of iron/steel producer Iskenderun Demir Celik climbed the most, 9.91%, while shares of leading airport operator TAV Airports Holding dropped the most, 4.68%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,896.00 by market close, down from $1,901.05 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
Price of Brent crude oil was around $94.53 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday – with a daily range of $92.81 to $94.60.
