ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index on Tuesday went up 0.83 percent to close at 90,696.97 points.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 745.88 points from the previous close, while it started Tuesday at 90,247.86 points.
Peaking at 90,776.12 points during the sessions, 61 stocks on the BIST 100 rose, 30 fell, and nine were flat compared to the previous close.
Stocks of Celebi Hava Servisi (CLEBI), which provides integrated ground services at airports, were the top gainers -- up 8.70 percent -- as Turkish sports club Fenerbahce (FENER) saw the biggest drop, falling 4.09 percent.
As of the daily close, the total market value of the BIST 100 was around 585.6 billion Turkish liras ($109.3 billion), with a daily trading volume of 5 billion liras ($910 million).
On Tuesday, the highest trade volumes were posted by private lender Garanti Bankasi, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, and private lender Akbank.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.4950 at daily close, while one U.S. dollar traded for 5.3610 Turkish liras at Monday's close.
The euro/lira rate stood at 6.2780, up from 6.1400 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 7.0090 Turkish liras, versus Monday's close of 6.8620.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,283.00 by market close, compared with $1,291.40 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was around $58.40 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Tuesday, after hovering between $57.14 and $58.50 during the day.
