ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week at 1,451.84 points, up 0.14% from the previous close.
After starting Friday at 1,456.44 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained two points from Thursday's close of 1,449.82 points.
During Friday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,449.28 and 1,462.28 points, with 39 stocks on the index rising, 55 down, and the remaining flat from the previous close.
Ending the week with a market value of around 1 trillion Turkish liras ($122 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 15.4 billion liras ($2 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, major sports club Fenerbahce, and steel producer Kardemir.
Shares of Tukas, a food industry firm, did the best, rising 7.57%, while stocks of IT company Indeks Bilgisayar fared the worst, falling 2.31%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,884.70 by market close, up from $1,855.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $66.66 per barrel as of 6.10 p.m. local time (1510GMT) on Friday.
