ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week at 1,432.93 points, up 0.34% from the previous close.
After starting Friday at 1,428.91 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 4.80 points from Thursday's close of 1,428.13 points.
During Friday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 1,427.40, and 1,435.24 points, with 51 stocks on the index rising, 40 down, and nine flat from the previous close.
Ending the week with a market value of around 1 trillion Turkish liras ($116.5 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 14.3 billion liras ($1.65 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag air carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti BBVA, and automotive manufacturer Karsan.
Shares of Koza, a mining company, did the best, rising 6.65%, while stocks of automotive manufacturer Karsan dropped the worst, falling 7.13%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,869.20 by market close, down from $1,889.60 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $71.50 per barrel as of 6.10 p.m. local time (1510GMT) on Friday.
