ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day up 0.56% to close at 100,345.64 points on Thursday.
Starting the fourth day of the week at 100,447.23 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 560.48 points from 99,785.16 points at Wednesday's close.
During Thursday's trading, the index's lowest level was 100,052.48 points and the highest was 101,238.80.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 677.4 billion Turkish liras ($117.4 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 8.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
On the fourth transaction day of the week, 47 stocks on the index rose, while seven were down compared to the previous day.
The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, Garanti and Akbank.
Stocks of casting manufacturer Cemas Dokum (CEMAS) was the best performer on Thursday, with its shares up 9.91%, while stocks of real estate investment trust Ihlas Gayrimenkul (IHLGM) dropped most, down 12.50%.
An ounce of gold sold for $1,490.30 at the weekly close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,490.00 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $61.34 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT) on Thursday -- with a daily range of $60.64 to $61.73.
At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $53.
