ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 2,009.99 points, down 1.54% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 2,049.74 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 31.44 points from Wednesday's close of 2,041.43 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,009.99 points, while its daily high was 2,059.05.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.6 trillion Turkish liras ($118 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 32.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
During the fourth transaction day of the week, 13 stocks on the index rose and 87 fell compared to Wednesday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines and iron and steel producers Kardemir and Eregli.
Stocks of real estate investment firm Is Bankasi Gayrimenkul Yatirim were the best performer with its shares up 1.86%, while stocks of telecommunication firm Turk Telekom saw the biggest drop, 4.39%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,885 by market close, up from $1,858 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $92.78 per barrel for a 2.1% daily loss as of 6.23 p.m. local time (1523GMT).
