ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 1,946.19 points, down 0.32% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,918.31 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 6.2 points from Friday's close at 1,952.40 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 1,912.23 points, while its daily high was 1,957.47.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.55 trillion Turkish liras ($110.2 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 31.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).
During the first transaction day of the week, 30 stocks on the index rose and 70 fell compared to Friday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines, iron/steel producers Eregli, and Kardemir.
Realty firm Adese was the best performer, with its shares up 9.23%, while stocks of brewer and soft drinks manufacturer Anadolu Efes saw the biggest drop, 9.99%.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,907.30 by market close, down from $1,928.15 at the previous close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $97.9 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
