ISTANBUL (AA) - West Ham United confirmed on Saturday that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon.
"Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital," West Ham said in a statement.
"At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family. The Club will make no further comment this evening, but will issue a further update in due course," it added.
Antonio, 34, scored 81 goals and 41 assists in 323 matches and helped the London club to win the 2023 UEFA Conference League title.
Numerous Premier League clubs, along with teams from other leagues, extended their best wishes to Antonio.
