US approves sale of HIMARS rocket systems to Croatia

Package worth $390M includes 8 systems, as well as related munition, equipment, and services

ATHENS (AA) – The US approved on Friday the potential sale of advanced HIMARS rocket systems to Croatia.

The State Department stated that it "has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Croatia of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and related equipment and services for an estimated cost of $390 million."

According to the statement, the package includes eight rocket systems, 24 M30A2 guided artillery rockets, M31A2 guided artillery rockets, as well as various types of relevant equipment, training, and logistical support.

Lockheed Martin, the US defense giant, will be the main contractor, the statement added.
