ATHENS (AA) – The US has given Poland a loan of $4 billion for arms purchases, the Polish defense minister announced on Thursday evening.
"We have yet another loan agreement from the US, aiding a swift transformation of the Polish Armed Forces within the FMF (Foreign Military Financing)," said Defense Minister and Deputy Premier Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz on X.
"USD 4 billion now, and in total the US has offered Poland over USD 11 billion for financing armaments programmes, including the Patriot air defence systems and Apache helicopters," he added.
Kamysz describes the loan agreement as "further evidence of huge trust and a strong Polish-US alliance."
