WASHINGTON (AA) – The House of Representatives approved a $105 billion aviation bill on Wednesday, before a Friday deadline.

Lawmakers voted 387-26 to renew the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act for another five years, days after the Senate approved it 88-4.

The legislation prioritizes investments that will strengthen aviation safety, boost consumer protections, grow the aviation safety workforce, advance technology and innovation, and modernize the national airspace system for the future.

The bill is headed to President Joe Biden's desk to be signed into law.
