ISTANBUL (AA) - US house prices annually jumped 6.3% in April, from the same month of last year, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) said Tuesday.
The figure followed a 6.7% year-on-year increase recorded in March.
House prices, meanwhile, were up 0.2% in April on a monthly basis, the FHFA said in a statement.
The monthly figure for March, meanwhile, was revised down to no change from the previously reported 0.1% increase.
"U.S. house prices continued to rise in April," said Anju Vajja, acting deputy director of FHFA’s Division of Research and Statistics. "However, the appreciation rate slowed in April amid a slight rise in both mortgage rates and housing inventory."
Vajja, however, said the housing market in general began to show some signs of normalization.
