NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market ended mostly lower Thursday but tech companies finished the day with record highs on the Nasdaq.
Twitter rose 2.1 percent and Facebook inched up 0.2 percent, pushing Nasdaq to another new record and posted its first 10-day winning streak since February 2015.
It was a different story for the Dow and S&P which failed to post gains.
The Dow lost 28 points to close at 21,611 and the S&P fell less than one point to end flat at 2,475.
Other losers Thursday included Home Depot which plummeted 4.1 percent, while Southwest Airlines fell nearly 2 percent.
