WASHINGTON (AA) – Police in Aurora, Illinois responded to an active shooter situation Friday at a manufacturing company, according to the city's official Twitter account.
A suspect has been apprehended and is now in custody, it said.
Several people, including multiple police officers, were injured and the victims have been transported to nearby hospitals, local news outlets reported.
Schools around the area were put under lockdown and students were not allowed to leave.
