The shooting in West Philadelphia happened at the end of an event marking Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday following the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the police, several people have been arrested and multiple guns were recovered at the scene in Philadelphia, the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania.
Chrissy Houlahan, a member of the US Congress for Pennsylvania, said she was "heartbroken" to hear of about the shooting that injured multiple people in West Philadelphia, where so many were celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
"I'm thankful for our first responders who are on the scene assisting those in need. This is an ongoing situation, & I will continue to monitor it," she said on X.
