ANKARA (AA) – China on Tuesday accused the US of sabotaging the international trading system and said its export restrictions posed serious risks to the security of global semiconductor industrial and supply chains.
In response to the Dutch government's latest move blocking ASML (Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography) exports to China, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin urged the Dutch government to honor the spirit of the contract and to safeguard the common interests of Dutch and Chinese companies with concrete actions.
“China strongly opposes the US bullying and sabotaging of the international trading system, which poses serious risks to the security of global semiconductor industrial and supply chains,” state-run Global Times quoted Wang as saying.
On Monday, the Netherlands-based chip machine manufacturer ASML (ASML.AS) in a statement said that the Dutch government has recently partially revoked a license for the shipment of NXT:2050i and NXT:2100i lithography systems which is impacting a small number of customers in China.
The company said that they do not expect the current revocation of their export license or the latest US export control restrictions to have a material impact on their financial outlook for 2023.
Last year, the US introduced new export restrictions to halt the export of chip-making machines if they contain any US parts.
Later Beijing also ordered export controls on gallium and germanium metals, key materials used to make semiconductors and electronics.
