RIYADH (AA) - The U.S., Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have added Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (RGC), along with nine people affiliated with Afghanistan’s Taliban movement, to their respective “terror” lists, the Saudi Press Agency reported Tuesday.
According to the news agency, the move represents “a collective effort to identify, tackle and share information related to terrorist financing networks and their activities… by members of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC)”.
Co-chaired by the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, the TFTC -- established in May of last year -- also includes Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
Tuesday’s “terror” designation names four RGC officers by name, including Qassem Soleimani, who since 1998 has commanded the RGC’s elite Quds Force.
