WASHINGTON (AA) - A US Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend in Tustin, California, where President Joe Biden was in the state for a glitzy campaign stop, police said Monday.

The Tustin Police Department said in a statement that officers responded to a call regarding a possible robbery at 9.36 p.m. local time and discovered that the Secret Service employee's bag was stolen at gunpoint.

The department confirmed that an officer-involved shooting had taken place. The suspects were not located, and it is unknown whether they were injured.

"Officers have located some of the victim’s belongings in the area and the incident is still being investigated. There is no known threat to the public," it added.

Sharing a photo of the vehicle involved, police said they are looking for a 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35.

Biden was in California over the weekend for a fundraiser event with former President Barack Obama and several high-profile celebrities, including George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Jimmy Kimmel.
