ISTANBUL (AA) - The US saw $107.5 billion in net foreign acquisitions of long-term securities, short-term US securities and banking flows in June, the Treasury Department said Friday.
Of the total, net foreign private inflows were $81.4 billion and net foreign official inflows were $26.1 billion.
Foreign residents increased their holdings of long-term US securities in June with net purchases of $131.6 billion. Net purchases by private foreign investors were $120.1 billion, while net purchases by foreign official institutions were around $11.4 billion.
US residents, meanwhile, increased their holdings of long-term foreign securities with net purchases of $35.4 billion, said the Treasury Department.
Foreign residents increased their holdings of US Treasury bills by $6.2 billion, it added.
