ANKARA (AA) – Japanese prosecutors on Tuesday indicted a US soldier over the alleged sexual assault and kidnapping of a minor girl late last year.
According to the indictment, Brennon Washington, 25, on Dec. 24 invited the girl to speak to him in his car at a park in Yomitan in the Okinawa province.
Later, he drove her to his residence before committing indecent acts such as touching the lower half of the girl's body, Tokyo-based Kyodo News reported, citing local authorities.
The accused, a member of the US Air Force, was aware that the girl was under 16, the indictment said.
Judges will hear the case on July 12 at the Naha District Court.
