US sprinter Noah Lyles won an Olympic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Games on Sunday.
Lyles, 27, secured the men's 100-meter title in a photo finish as he barely beat Jamaica's Kishane Thompson at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
The US athlete won the race in 9.784 seconds, while Thompson claimed silver with 9.789 seconds.
Fred Kerley, another Team USA sprinter, bagged bronze with 9.81 seconds.
Usain Bolt, a retired world-famous Jamaican sprinter, is still the record holder in the men's 100-meter dash with 9.58 seconds in the world (Berlin 2009) and 9.63 seconds in the Olympics (London 2012).
The Paris 2024 Olympics will end on Aug. 11.
