ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges closed mixed on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 68 points, or 0.2%, to end the session at 33,550. The S&P 500 was flat, adding just 0.98 point, or 0.02%, to 4,274.
The Nasdaq, on the other hand, rose 29 points, or 0.22%, to finish the day at 13,092.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, lost 3.8% to 18.22. The 10-year US Treasury yield added 1.2% to 4.616%.
The dollar index was up 0.44% to 106.70, while the euro shed 0.63% to $1.0502 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in the red, with gold trimming 1.3% to $1,875 per ounce and silver decreasing 1.2% to $22.54.
Oil prices meanwhile were up more than 2%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $94.28 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $93.75.
