ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US closed with slight gains Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased almost 10 points, or 0.02%, to finish the session at 41,250.
The S&P 500 rose nearly nine points, or 0.16%, reaching 5,625. The Nasdaq Composite added 29 points, or 0.16%, to 17,754.
The VIX volatility index, referred to as the "fear index," lost 4.4% to 15.43. The 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.26% to 3.825%.
The US dollar index shed 0.26% to 100.56, while the euro remained unchanged against the dollar at $1.1185.
Precious metals were in positive territory, with gold rising 0.02% to $2,525 per ounce and silver adding 0.12% to $30.01 per ounce.
Oil prices were up around 0.1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $78.95 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $75.86 per barrel.
