ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US opened mixed on Monday.
The Dow Jones was up 53 points, or 0.14%, to 38,957 at 9.42 a.m. EDT.
The S&P 500, on the other hand, lost just one point, or 0.15%, to remain flat at 5,203.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased eight points, or 0.05%, to 16,256 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 0.56% to 16.12. The 10-year US Treasury yield added 1.1% to 4.425%.
The dollar index decreased 0.1% to 104.18, while the euro gained 0.12% to $1.0848 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on rise, with gold adding 0.2% to $2,334 per ounce and silver increasing 0.7% to $27.67.
Oil prices lost around 0.7%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $90.51 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $86.37.
