ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges opened with gains on Monday.
The Dow Jones rose 250 points, or 0.73%, to 34.597 at 9.53 am EDT (1353GMT), while the S&P 500 added 22 points, or 0.51%, to 4,428.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 67 points, or 0.5%, to 13,657.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 0.5% to 15.76, while the 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.6% to 4.216%.
The dollar index was unchanged at 104.06 and the euro rose 0.1% to $1.0808 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in positive territory, with gold adding 0.2% to $1,918 per ounce and silver increasing 0.05% to $24.23.
Oil prices were up around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $84.62 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $80.80.
