ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US opened mixed on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones was down 60 points, or 0.16%, to 38,832 at 9.59 a.m. EDT.
The S&P 500, on the other hand, rose just three points, or 0.06%, to remain flat at 5,205.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 58 points, or 0.36%, to 16,313 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 1.3% to 15.39. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 1.1% to 4.377%.
The dollar index decreased 0.2% to 103.94, while the euro gained 0.2% to $1.0881 against the greenback.
Precious metals have continued to show gains, with gold adding 0.84% to $2,358 per ounce and silver increasing 1.3% to $28.21.
Oil prices were mixed, with global benchmark Brent crude rising 0.1% to $90.46 per barrel but US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude falling 0.1% to $86.31.
