NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened at a record high Wednesday after President Donald Trump's speech on Tuesday night.
The Dow added 195 points to begin trading at 21,007 points -- climbing above the 21,000 threshold for the first time in history.
The S&P 500 rose 19 points to open at 2,382 while the Nasdaq increased 47 points to start the day at 5,872.
In his speech to a joint session in the U.S. Congress late Tuesday, Trump reiterated his economic promises, saying he would increase infrastructure spending and lower regulations, while adding jobs and providing growth in the American economy.
