NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher on Monday as oil prices continued to increase.
The Dow added 80 points to begin the new day at 19,250 points to reach a fresh all-time high record.
The S&P 500 increased nine points to open at 2,201 points and the Nasdaq rose 25 points to start the new day at 5,280 points.
Oil prices continued to rise on Monday after OPEC's deal last week to lower its output as investors believe the deal would rid the oversupply in the market and rebalance the prices.
At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading at $52.08 a barrel with a 0.7 percent increase, and international benchmark Brent crude was at $54.89 a barrel -- a 0.8 percent gain.
