ANKARA (AA) - Major indices in the US stock market opened higher on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones was up 200 points, or 0.6%, to 33,440 at 1344GMT. The S&P 500 added 39 points, or 0.94%, to reach 4,214 points.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq jumped 195 points, or 1.6%, to 12,685.
The yield on 10-year US Treasury notes fell 0.6% to 2.755%. The VIX volatility index, known as the fear index, was down 9.7% to 30.28.
The dollar index increased 0.65% to 102.97.
Precious metals were down with gold losing 1.2% to $1,882 and silver shedding 0.44% to $23.41.
Crude oil prices declined more than 1%.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading at $103.43, down 1.1%, while US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $100.28 – a 1.4% loss.
