NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher Thursday after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's statements.
The Dow added 38 points to open at 20,817 and the S&P 500 rose five points to 2,367.
The Nasdaq increased two points to begin trading at 5,863.
Mnuchin told CNBC earlier on Thursday the government was working on tax reform and was planning on new tax legislation being passed by Congress before the August recess.
After President Donald Trump's promise to lower corporate taxes, indexes on Wall Street have broken record after record since his election on Nov. 8.
