NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher on Wednesday with a rise in oil prices.
The Dow added 4 points to begin trading at 20,527 points while the S&P rose 8 points to start the day at 2,350.
The Nasdaq, on the other hand, went up 32 points to open at 5,882 points.
At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading at $52.56 per barrel with a 0.2 percent gain, while international benchmark Brent crude was at $55.09 a barrel -- a 0.3 percent increase.
The oil market remains focused on the weekly change in the U.S. crude oil inventories that will be announced by the Energy Information Administration later on Wednesday.
