US stock market opens higher

Crude prices are slightly up

NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher Tuesday as oil prices continued to increase.

The Dow added 32 points to begin trading at 20,927 and the S&P rose 3 points to 2,397.

The Nasdaq increased 10 points to start the day at 6,143.

At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading at $51.27 a barrel, and international benchmark Brent crude was at $53.99 per barrel -- both a 0.3 percent gain.
