NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher on Friday with a rise in crude oil prices.
The Dow added 7 points to begin trading at 21,539 points, and the S&P 500 rose five points to 2,448 points.
The Nasdaq climbed 11 points to start the day at 6,286 points.
At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was up 1 percent to trade at $46.41 a barrel. International benchmark Brent crude was trading at $48.76 a barrel -- an increase of 1 percent.
