NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher Monday with strong earnings.
The S&P 500 added 4 points to begin trading at 2,477 points, and the Nasdaq rose 19 points to 6,393 points.
The Dow increased 63 points to start the day at a new all-time high level of 21,893. The index closed at record high levels in three trading days in a row last week.
American companies' strong earnings in the second quarter this year have pushed the stock market higher.
Social media and tech giants like Facebook and Microsoft, on top of telecommunication majors like Verizon and AT&T, have posted last week increase in their second quarter net income and revenues year-over-year.
