NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street opened lower Friday after the downturn in the European stock market created a negative impact across the Atlantic.
The Dow Jones fell 102 points to begin the day at 18,059 and the S&P 500 was down nine points to 2,132. The Nasdaq decreased six points to start the day at 5,235.
When Wall Street opened, Germany's DAX index was down 0.15 percent, while the U.K.'s FTSE posted a 0.05 percent decrease, and France's CAC 40 saw a 0.42 percent decline.
