NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street opened lower on Monday after a downturn in the European stock market created a negative impact across the Atlantic.
The Dow Jones fell 41 points to begin the day at 19,110 points and the S&P 500 was down four points to 2,208 points. The Nasdaq decreased 12 points to start the day at 5,386.
When the Wall Street opened, Germany's DAX index was down 0.75 percent, while the U.K.'s FTSE posted a 0.40 percent decrease, and France's CAC 40 saw a 0.50 percent decline.
