NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street opened lower Monday after a downturn in the European stock market created a negative impact across the Atlantic.
The Dow Jones fell 36 points to begin the day at 20,035 and the S&P 500 was down four points to 2,292.
The Nasdaq decreased 11 points to start the day at 5,655.
When the Wall Street opened, Germany's DAX index was down 0.89 percent, while the U.K.'s FTSE posted a 0.24 percent decrease, and France's CAC 40 saw a 0.88 percent decline.
