NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened lower Wednesday amid a decline in oil prices.
The Dow fell 33 points to 20,709 and the S&P 500 was down four points to 2,360.
The Nasdaq decreased eight points to begin the new trading day at 5,857.
At the first bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate was down 1.4 percent at $53.65 a barrel, and international benchmark Brent crude was trading at $55.95 per barrel -- a 1.3 percent loss.
