NEW YORK (AA) - U.S. stock markets opened lower Monday with the decline in some major American companies' shares.
The Dow lost 84 points to begin the day at 21,921 and the S&P fell 11 points to 2,371.
The Nasdaq decreased 28 points to start the new week at 5,842.
Retail giant Macy's saw its shares decline by 1.8 percent at the first bell.
The stock prices of American Airlines and Southwest Airlines fell by 0.7 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively, at the opening.
