US stock market opens lower

Investment banks' shares fall

NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened lower Wednesday with a decline in the stock prices of major investment banks in the U.S.

The Dow fell 183 points to close at 20,795 and the S&P lost 18 points to begin trading at 2,381.

The Nasdaq decreased 58 points to start the day at 6,111.

At the first bell, investment banking giants Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley shares declined 1.7 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively.

Bank of America saw its stock price decrease 2.9 percent.
