NEW YORK (AA) - U.S. stock markets opened lower on Thursday after macroeconomic data came below market expectations.
The Dow fell 25 points to begin the day at 19,916 and the S&P 500 was down three points at 2,267.
The Nasdaq declined two points to start trading at 5,474.
The private sector added 153,000 jobs to the American economy last month, according to the ADP Research Institute.
The data was, however, below market expectation of 175,000.
