ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks opened mixed Tuesday, while the S&P 500 was hovering around all-time highs.
The index was up four points, or 0.1%, to 4,855 at 9.52 a.m. EDT (1452GMT) after it climbed Monday to a new record of 4,868.41 points.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 33 points, or 0.22%, to 15,393
The Dow Jones, on the other hand, fell 89 points, or 0.24%, to 37,912.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.45% to 13.13. The 10-year US Treasury yield rose 1.1% to 4.142%.
The dollar index increased 0.2% to 103.55, while the euro trimmed 0.28% to $1.0852 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in positive territory with gold adding 0.03% to $2,022 per ounce and silver jumping 1.1% to $22.33.
Oil prices were in the red with global benchmark Brent crude falling 0.52% to $79.64 per barrel, and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude decreasing 0.37% to $74.48.
